Dear US Media, please stop with the sensationalism when reporting on vandalizing and looting of upscale stores across the country. The outpouring of sympathy for these stores is laughable. They are all insured and all were struggling financially because of the shutdown.

When in the history of protesting and race riots have Black people been allowed to cross into white areas to doso, let alone areas of the most affluent? Most if not all of these stores have been shut down for months and most inventory had been moved. Also, anyone who has any level of understanding of high end stores and especially high end jewelry stores, know that “all” of their jewelry is placed in a vault every night (sans the usual handfuls left for marketing and show). Also, anyone with half of a brain knows that no jewelry store that has been closed for months would leave millions of dollars worth of jewelry in a store with no knowledge of when they would re-open. Therefore, hearing about high end jewelry stores in SoHo being looted was laughable.

It should also be clear that most of these stores would be too concerned with vandalism because of economic conditions due to the pandemic, and dormant environment to even consider leaving a normal amount of valuable products in a store that’s not opened. All of these stores were hurting and losing mass revenue from COVID shutdown, what better way for the government to help them and not be criticised for doing so!

Here in Atlanta the story was all about the protection of Lenox Mall (a mall highlighted most often in rap videos), when across the street was the flagship of luxury shopping, at Phipps Plaza…it was completely ignored, and ultimately robbed while police stood guard at Lenox. Also, the other joke was that no one talked about Buckhead Shops, another luxury shopping area less than a mile from Lenox & Phipps that housed stand alone fashion houses; Hermes, Chanel, Louboutin, Moncler, Dior, Akris, Cucinelli, Canali and more…most if not all were robbed or vandalized. Also most if not all were struggling, and all had limited inventory. I know because I live within walking distance of them all; I have connections at most of the stores listed. I was told by a friend who’s a top private shopper for celebrities, that no one was buying and that all of her customers were afraid to even consider coming back into the stores and/or had no need to shop if they were not able to go anywhere to wear them. Many of these stores had not opened back up and none of them had the usual inventory on hand.

Stop listening to CNN, MSNBC and Black pundits & politicians all lie about Trump militarizing the country, when in fact here in Atlanta Keisha Lance Bottoms begged the governor to bring in the National Guard and marshall law. Let’s be clear, Democrats and Republicans have always agreed on anything related to more military and police.

My summation is that all of this type of looting gives high end stores who did not qualify for PPP an opportunity to file for insurance, and the ultimate way for government to usher in a tougher form of policing. They know that once people finally realize the mass job losses that will not be coming back and the ultimate divide that has been created between the haves and haves not, they will need to be able to control us. They have been testing their ability to control our every move for months with COVID fear, locking us down at will…now comes the final test with marshall law, and what all of this will finally bring to bare.

And this has been my Ted Talk Series for today…lol
